Our regular Monday night class is cancelled tonight in honor of Memorial Day. Hope you all are having a safe weekend, and take a moment to remember the fallen. For the sake of others, so many have laid down their lives on the battlefield. May they all find peace.

Best Martial Arts Institute is closed on Monday for Presidents Day, so regular Monday night class will not be meeting. We will resume our regular class schedule next week. Hope to see you there. In the meantime, you can take this opportunity to develop your personal training at home. Hope you have a great week!

Summer Training Opportunities

Summer is just around the corner, and there are some incredible training opportunities to be aware of.

Vladimir Vasiliev and Konstantin Komarov will be in Seattle June 26-28 for the 2015 Systema Masters seminar “Street Tough.” This will, no doubt, be an amazing event. Vladimir and Konstantin are top systema masters, outstanding instructors, and incredibly skilled and knowledgeable. If you have an interest in Systema, and you can make this event, you will not be disappointing.

Emmanuel Manolokakis will be at the Roots Dojo on Denman as part of their notorious Systema Summer Instensive with Vali Majd. This is an incredible opportunity to push yourself and go deeper in the art with two senior instructors. These guys were doing Systema long before most people had even heard of it. They are great people and amazing instructors. This will be an experience you will not forget.

If you’re in the Eugene area and can’t get away, Systema Eugene will be holding some summer workshops in June called “Discover Systema.” Stay tuned for more information on location and times for these weekend seminars.

No class on Monday

This Monday is presidents day, and as Best Martial will be closed, our regular Monday night class is cancelled. Hope to see you all next week for more training. In the mean time, there’s plenty of training you can be doing on your own … so why wait?

Pacific Martial Arts Conference

It’s time for the first day of this year’s Pacific Martial Arts Conference. The event will be on Saturday, January 24th from 10am to 4pm at Best Martial Arts. Many excellent instructors will be teaching mini classes on a wide range of martial arts all day. I will be teaching a segment on Systema at 11:30.

This is one of my favorite events of the year, an excellent opportunity to train with a lot of people you might never have the chance to otherwise, learn some new things, and get a good workout. It’s a lot of fun and I hope to see you there!

For more information see the flyer on Saturday’s event.

No class on Monday

There will be no class this Monday, January 19th. The dojo is closed in observance of Martin Luther King day. Regular Monday night class will resume the following week on January 26th. Hope to see you there.

If you need some extra training though, on Saturday the 24th is the Pacific Martial Arts conference at Best Martial Arts. There are many excellent instructors teaching a variety of martial arts all day, and I will be teaching a segment on Systema at 11:30.
